Hi, friend ! My name is Hannah. I’m the chef, artist, writer, and photographer behind all the things you see here.
I’ve been in the kitchen since I was two years old. Thanks to my beautiful mama, I’ve been creating, experimenting, making, and licking the mixing bowl ever since I was big enough to sit on the kitchen counter.
I adore all things dessert, chocolate, ice cream, and any cake put in front of me. Primarily, I specialize in gluten free, mostly dairy free, and intentionally nourishing meals to fuel your body. However, above all, I focus on developing balanced and spectacular flavors in each recipe for the whole family to enjoy.
My favorite sweet treats are cinnamon rolls, churros, chocolate cake, and warm chocolate cookies with sea salt. Although, I won't turn away many things offered to me.
Since I was a child, I was determined to go to Culinary School. I attended Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC and graduated with degrees in both Baking & Pastry Arts and Culinary Arts in Fall 2021. During my time in school, I was named a US Foods Scholar in September 2019. I was also awarded two ACF Silver Medals in our American Culinary Federation Competition in March 2021, as I competed in the Chocolate Showpiece and Celebration Cake categories.
In the Fall of 2022, I competed on Food Network's Halloween Wars Season 12 as a Sugar Artist on Team Squad Ghouls, placing Semi-Finalists. It was an incredible experience, and I still can't believe I checked off such a huge bucket list thing at such a young age.
I live on a beautiful farm in North Carolina with the love of my life. I met my high school sweetheart in August 2018 on our first day of English class in college, got engaged in March 2020, and (finally) married in June 2022. He’s truly a gift from the Lord. We live on his family's old dairy farm with our orange kitty, Obi-Wan and our Aussie/Blue Heeler pup, Ember.
I’m an old soul who especially adores music from the 40s and 50s. Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong are my favorites to listen to while cooking up supper or a tasty dessert. I also love my many cats, plants, and eclectic collection of kitchen gadgets, whisks, coffee mugs, and tiny things.
I’m passionate about sharing the things my family and I love with others to enjoy. I am so thankful you stopped by. Let me know what you create!
With love & buttercream,
Hannah Catherine
